The Photography and Digital Imaging degree explores the creative and technical aspects of digital film making within a variety of settings. With an emphasis on hands-on training, you will have access to industry standard digital cameras and film production equipment, and individual tutorial support.

The duration of the course is 3 academic years with 6 semesters.
The Photography and Digital Imaging degree covers the entire scope of photography including starting from principles of photography to fine art photography. While doing so, it discusses concepts of aesthetics, fundamentals of design, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom, photography workshop and print technology. At the same time, the students get better acquaintance of mythology, Indian political thought, sustainable development while sharpening their language and behavioral skills.
Semester 1: It deals with the basics of photography and history of photography. It also sharpens the language skills of the students. In this semester, students have an option to select either psychology or creative writing. The course in psychology deals with types of psychology, behaviouristic and cognitive principles for learning etc. Creating writing deals with paraphrasing, reading and writing comprehension etc.
Semester 2: is all about color photography and the fundamentals of design. This semester also discusses the need for environmental consciousness and sustainable development. Elective psychology discusses research methods in psychology, theories of personality and motivation.
Semester 3: It talks about the basic concepts of aesthetics and visual design. It also discusses different tools in Photoshop and introduces the students to the lightroom. It further makes the students undergo different drawing exercises under digital imaging. In this semester, students have to choose from comparative mythology and political science. The course in comparative mythology introduces the students to the concept of myth, mythology, myth analysis, and Indian mythology. The course in political science deals with the scope of political science, its key concepts and introduction to Indian and Western political thought.
Semester 4: It introduces the students to different light sources and the principles of light. Students will get know about RAW files and color settings. They will also learn how to link photography and journalism. In this semester, students have to choose between contemporary India and compositing. The course in Contemporary India deals with colonial and postcolonial India whereas compositing deals with assembling different characters and backgrounds into single frames and sequences.
Semester 5: It teaches students the scope of portrait photography and fashion photography. Students will become adept at working with color profiles and color modes. In this semester students have to choose between the discipline-specific electives photography workshop and print workflow. Photography workshop deals with different architectural and photographic styles whereas print workflow deals with different color spaces, types of paper surfaces and software implications.
Semester 6: It discusses different types of photography including advertising photography, food photography, fine art photography etc. It also teaches different kinds of printing and how to create and print digital graphics using Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom. In this semester, students will explore and shoot locations. It also discusses how conceptual photography is a branch of fine art photography. This semester ends with the project submission and an internship programme.
